OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- A number of Israeli bulldozers demolished on Tuesday a building under construction and four commercial stores before knocking down a land-side wall in Beit Hanina north of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources affirmed that Israeli occupation forces stormed the area and demolished Palestinian properties belonging to Haroub family without any prior notification under the pretext of being built without Israeli permit.
The demolition process lasted for long hours after the closure of all roads leading to the area, the sources added.
The U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has slammed Israel’s destruction of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem as illegal and unfair, after a series of demolitions left dozens of Palestinians —mostly children— homeless.
"Demolitions that result in forced evictions and displacement run counter to Israel's obligations under international law and create unnecessary suffering and tension. They must stop immediately," said OCHA.
