Shortly after the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) escalated their attacks against Jenin refugee camp’s neighborhoods, bombing dozens of houses and facilities.

Local sources reported that the IOF detonated 21 houses comprising 80 apartments in different neighborhoods all over the Jenin refugee camp.

The sources affirmed that Palestinian citizens have been forcibly displaced from the camp since the beginning of the Israeli aggression which has been ongoing for more than two weeks.

Last Sunday, the IOF delivered a notice ordering the bombing of al-Saadi family’s house in the eastern neighborhood in Jenin city, north of the West Bank.

The IOF ordered the al-Saadi family to hand their son Qusai over to the Israeli intelligence or else their three-story house will be bombed, according to local sources.

For its part, the Hamas Movement condemned the Israeli bombardment of dozens of Palestinian houses in the Jenin refugee camp, stressing that such a practice constitutes part of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.

In a related incident, the Palestinian young man Nour al-Din al-Saadi was martyred last Saturday after the IOF bombed the eastern neighborhood of Jenin camp.

The armed wing of the Hamas Movement, the Qassam Brigades, hailed martyr al-Saadi, affirming that the Israeli occupation attempts to break the determination of the Palestinian resistance will go in vain.

The Qassam Brigades called on all the Palestinian activists and resistance factions to act urgently and stand in solidarity with the Jenin refugee camp.

Moreover, the Palestinian Authority last Sunday called on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting to stop the Israeli brutal aggressions against the Palestinian people after the IOF wiped out entire residential squares in Jenin camp.

Director of the public relations and media at Jenin Municipality, Bashir Matahin, had said that the Israeli army bombed 21 houses in three neighborhoods in the camp, warning that the army affirmed that the bombardments will continue.

In a press statement on Sunday, the Palestinian ministry of foreign affairs condemned the Israeli bombardments committed in Jenin and Tulkarem refugee camps, stressing that such massive shelling aims to forcibly expel the Palestinian people and ethnically cleanse them.

Head of Jenin municipality, Mohammed Jarrar, said that the IOF ordered the evacuation of the Safa and Qunairi buildings consisting of 30 apartments at the northern entrance of Jenin camp before blowing them up.

“The area that was bombed is crowded as it is near to the Jenin Government Hospital which is hard to evacuate from patients who depend on respiratory and dialysis devices,” Jarrar pointed out.

According to Jenin municipality, around 15,000 citizens have been displaced from the camp and its vicinity as the IOF destroyed 100 houses completely.

“We contacted the concerned entities such as OCHA and NDB to provide the basic needs such as food and shelter to the Palestinian people who were forcibly displaced from their homes,” Jarar said, calling on the Palestinian leadership to act urgently against the statements of Israels’ war minister Israel Katz. Katz had announced that the Israeli army will stay in Jenin even after the ongoing West Bank operation.

Since the 21st of January 2025, the Israeli army has launched a military operation in Jenin city and camp resulting in murdering 25 Palestinian citizens until Sunday morning when the aggression was expanded to Tulkarem city where three other citizens were martyred.

The Israeli army and Jewish settlers have been escalating their attacks against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the West Bank as 900 Palestinians have been martyred, 6,700 injured, and 14,300 detained since the beginning of the Israel genocide against Gaza in October 2023.

Backed by the US, Israel has committed a brutal genocide against the Gaza Strip, killing or injuring 159,000 Palestinians, while 14,000 others went missing.
