Data published by the Europeans for Jerusalem organization revealed that Israeli occupation forces killed two Palestinians, one of whom was a child, and injured 22 others, while executing 44 demolitions in occupied Jerusalem during December 2024.

The organization clarified in its monthly report that the occupation forces committed 663 violations distributed across 16 types of human rights violations, with the majority of these violations being compounded. The most prevalent violations were incursions and raids, accounting for 52.9%, followed by arrests at 9.5%.

The report documented 37 incidents of gunfire and direct assaults by Israeli occupation forces in the neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem, resulting in the death of child Omar Shweiki on December 3 and young man Tarek Ghazawneh on December 7, along with injuries to 22 others and dozens suffering from suffocation, in addition to at least 18 citizens being subjected to beating and abuse.

The Europeans for Jerusalem team recorded 351 incursions into towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem, during which 63 citizens were arrested, including 8 children and 3 women, with 10 others summoned and 6 placed under house arrest.

The report also documented 44 demolitions affecting 37 homes, 10 of which the owners were forced to demolish themselves, leading to the displacement of 148 citizens, and the destruction of 7 facilities, including a mosque, along with 24 notifications and demolition orders issued against other homes and facilities.

It pointed out the seizure by the Atiret Kohanim settlement organization, under the protection of occupation forces, of a residential building in Batn al-Hawa in Jerusalem, claiming ownership of the land on which the building is located.

During this month, 6 decisions and measures were issued as part of efforts to entrench settlement and Judaization in occupied Jerusalem, involving the confiscation of dozens of dunums, and the approval of a new settlement project named “Burger Towers,” set to begin in March 2025. This project includes the demolition of 95 old housing units and the construction of 392 new housing units between the Katamon neighborhood and the village of Beit Safafa, as well as the conversion of any land in Jerusalem whose owners cannot prove ownership into what is known as “absentee property.”

Regarding targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, 5,650 settlers and thousands under the guise of tourists participated in the storming of the Mosque over 23 days. The report also noted 11 violations, mostly consisting of performing Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.

It confirmed the continued implementation by Israeli occupation authorities of a policy of expulsion from Al-Aqsa Mosque or the city of Jerusalem, with two expulsion orders issued this month against a man and a woman.

Settlers continued to carry out assaults against citizens in occupied Jerusalem, with Europeans for Jerusalem documenting 5 assaults this month, which involved attacking citizens, seizing a home, and assaulting its residents.

The report highlighted the ongoing suffocating siege imposed by occupation forces on Palestinian towns and neighborhoods in occupied Jerusalem, restricting the access of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It also noted continued assaults on public freedoms and the obstruction of journalistic work in the occupied city.

Additionally, it confirmed the ongoing violation of the economic, social, and cultural rights of Jerusalemites, with numerous violations imposed on shop owners and fines levied against them during this month.
