Hamas: Palestinian prisoners will not be deterred by Israeli decisions

Sunday 3-September-2023

The Hamas Movement has stressed that the Palestinian prisoners will not be deterred by the open war waged by the Israeli occupation government against them.

In a press statement on Sunday member of Hamas’s political bureau and head of the Movement’s office of martyrs wounded and prisoners Zahir Jabarin said that Palestinian prisoners will confront the Israeli decisions by all means possible.

Jabarin reiterated that the Palestinian people will support Palestinian prisoners who will start their open-ended hunger strike later this month following the reduction of family visits.

Earlier this morning the Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement announced that Palestinian prisoners will go on a hunger strike next Thursday.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir ordered the Israeli prison service to start implementing his decision to reduce family visits to Palestinian prisoners from the West Bank to once every two months instead of once a month.

5000 Palestinian citizens including 33 women 180 minors 1200 administrative detainees and 700 patients are currently held in the Israeli jails.
