Dr. Muhammad al-Hindi Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement said that Israel “will be forced to carry out a prisoner exchange deal no matter how long the days of aggression last.”
In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera Net published on Tuesday Al-Hindi stressed that Israel is trying to evade this process even by liquidating all its prisoners in the Gaza Strip according to the “Hannibal” protocol which stipulates that a dead soldier is better than a captured soldier. But in the end in view of this large number of prisoners and in view of the pressure of the Israeli public opinion which interacts strongly with the families of the Israeli prisoners Israel will find itself regardless of the massacres it has committed forced into an exchange deal that will bring joy to every Palestinian home he underlined.
“But now while we are still in the middle of the battle the talk is not about a prisoner exchange deal but rather about repeated truces in which some civilians get released especially those with foreign nationalities in exchange for the release of some female and child prisoners and the sick from Israeli jails and the entry of fuel and medical aid into Gaza” he underlined.
October 7 achievement
He stressed that the achievement of the resistance on October 7 and the collapse of the elite units of the Israeli army “had a stunning effect on the enemy and its supporters in the West and the region.” He opined that the great pain of the revenge operations against the civilians of the people of Gaza revealed images unprecedented since World War II.
“Despite this the October 7 operation has a long-term strategic impact especially if Israel fails to displace the people of Gaza and it will fail God willing” the Islamic Jihad official said.
This process brought the Palestinian issue back to the top of the world’s priorities after it had been almost forgotten and after the West Bank Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa were left under the grip of the Israel to liquidate what remained of Palestine he added.
The October 7 attack came to confirm that there is no peace or security in the region without the Palestinian people taking their full rights. Neither the power of Israel nor the peace and normalization agreements with Arab regimes nor any Western complicity can achieve security and stability in the Middle East he affirmed.
Shifting to the armed wing of his organization the Al-Quds Brigades Al-Hindi said they continue to confront the Israeli invading forces with mortar shells and other projectiles. They also continue to fire rockets against Israeli targets. The Brigades enjoy high morale and are prepared to continue fighting for a long time he asserted.
“The enemy only succeeded in bombing civilians in their homes mosques churches and hospitals and this is the only success that Israel can talk about” he said.
Regarding the message of Islamic Jihad from carrying out operations from the Lebanon arena Al-Hindi said “it is to emphasize that we are one people one cause and we face one enemy which does not target Palestine only but rather the entire nation”.
International interaction
On the international interaction with the Israeli aggression Al-Hindi said “the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world’s support activities have not ceased since the first day of the enemy’s aggression and crimes against civilians. World capitals such as London Paris and Washington witnessed the largest marches chanting for the freedom of Palestine.”
As for the official level he stressed that the “Western governments are defending their arm in the region and their project to dominate the region in which they have invested hundreds of billions of dollars and great efforts for many years in order to plant Israel in the heart of our nation.”
Al-Hindi concluded by saying that “the Arab regime which has failed in the Cairo meeting to bring a single drop of water into Gaza has no value or weight neither for Israel nor for the Americans”.
