A high ranking delegation of Hamas Movement including its political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya and head of the political bureau abroad Khaled Mishaal and senior member Khalil al-Hayya arrived in Cairo the group said in a brief statement on Thursday.
The high-level delegation met with the head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel and discussed the situation in Gaza the statement added.
The visit is the first of its kind since the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation and the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 which left more than 40000 martyrs wounded and missing persons and 1.5 million displaced people.
Efforts have been accelerating in recent days to reach a truce in the Gaza Strip through Egyptian and Qatari efforts.
