Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out a large-scale arrest campaign unprecedentedly targeting students of al-Khalil University in al-Khalil city in the southern West Bank on Wednesday morning.
The campaign led to the arrest of nine college students from al-Khalil University including a graduating student in addition to the detention of 15 female students. Another girl student was served a summons for interrogation.
Israeli soldiers stormed al-Khalil and broke into the houses of the students in the city and its towns before holding them captive.
In Ramallah the IOF detained seven Palestinians including one of the Hamas Movement’s leaders Hussein Abu Kuwaik after storming and wreaking havoc in their houses in the city and its towns.
In Nablus the IOF arrested Ghasan Thouqan a 67-year-old lecturer at An-Najah National University. He had previously spent 10 years of captivity in Israeli jails mostly under the illegal administrative detention. Two other men were arrested from different neighborhoods in the city.
Meanwhile the IOF stormed the West Bank cities of Jenin Tulkarem and Bethlehem in addition to Occupied Jerusalem resulting in the arrest of 23 men from the four cities and a number of their towns and refugee camps.
