Massive demonstrations in support of Gaza in various world capitals

Sunday 3-December-2023

Thousands marched in the streets of several world countries on Saturday in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people and protesting the Israeli genocidal war against the besieged Strip.

Tens of thousands took to the streets of the Indonesian capital Jakarta raising Palestinian flags and pro-Gaza slogans, local media reported, noting that thousands arrived from nearby cities and villages to participate in the rally.

Organizers of the event said that government officials and religious scholars would attend the rally and that it would be an occasion to collect donations for Gaza.

Numerous demonstrations were organized in Indonesia over the past few weeks and the government sent around 21 tons of medical aid to the Egyptian port of el-Arish last week in preparation for transporting them to Gaza Strip. The Indonesians were additionally enraged by the Israeli bombardment of the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza Strip.

Similar massive marches were organized in the Spanish capital Madrid and other major cities demanding their government and other European governments to pressure Israeli into halting the aggression and the genocidal war on Gaza.

The demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and slogans calling for boycotting “killer” Israel and “Palestine will be free from the River to the Sea.”

They also called on their government to sever diplomatic relations with Israel until it agrees to a permanent ceasefire.

In Australia, pro-Palestinian activists have descended on Fremantle Port to disrupt the arrival of an Israeli cargo ship amidst tight police measures.

The protesters carried Palestinian flags and chanted “Free Palestine”.

Meanwhile, one of the biggest syndicates in the US organized a protest in front of the White House in Washington DC demanding a ceasefire to the Israeli war on Gaza.

Members of the United Auto Workers (UAW), which represents 400,000 workers, carried Palestinian flags and condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression and massacres in the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, many British cities witnessed dozens of demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to stop targeting hospitals, schools housing displaced persons, ambulances and civilians.
