The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation army has escalated its genocidal war in the Strip amid a real humanitarian catastrophe.
The death toll from Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip has risen to over 15,523 victims, mostly women and children, the health ministry in the embattled coastal enclave stated, adding that the number of wounded climbed to over 41,316 people.
Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli army has committed dozens of massacres in all governorates of the Gaza Strip, including deadly air raids without prior warning.
The Shuja’iya massacre was the most horrific crime, where 50 residential buildings and houses were completely bombed, claiming the lives of hundreds of victims.
The GMO pointed out that all hospitals are overcrowded and have exceeded their medical capabilities and capacity, accusing the Israeli occupation army of deliberately targeting the health sector to put it out of service and make its hospitals incapable of receiving wounded civilians.
The GMO also called on all international bodies to find effective and urgent mechanisms to prevent a real humanitarian and health catastrophe for more than 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip early Friday after declaring an end to a week-long humanitarian truce.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires an immediate international intervention.
