3,714 Palestinian students were killed and 5,700 others injured in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, the Palestinian Ministry of Education revealed in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, 3,679 students were killed in the Gaza Strip and 5,429 others were injured, while 35 students were killed in the West Bank and 271 others were injured. 82 students were also arrested.
209 teachers and administrators were also killed during the same reported period, and 619 others were injured in the Gaza Strip.
In the West Bank, two teachers were injured, while more than 65 others were arrested.
The ministry pointed out that 278 government schools and 65 UNRWA-run schools were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip; 83 of them were severely damaged, and 7 schools were completely destroyed, while 38 schools were stormed and vandalized in the West Bank.
The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor earlier revealed that the Israeli army has turned schools sheltering tens of thousands of displaced people into military centers and field execution sites as part of its ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7.
Euro-Med Monitor received testimonies about Israeli army forces carrying out unjustified field executions and killings of Palestinian civilians after detaining them for days inside the same schools where they had sought refuge from the violence.
