The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) has said in a statement issued on Sunday that there are 28 prisoners whose bodies are still being held by Israeli authorities.
17 of the 28 have died since October 7 and their bodies have not been returned to their families for burial, the PPS added.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continue to escalate their arrest campaigns in the West Bank, coinciding with the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Since October, 9,845 Palestinians have been rounded up by the IOF troops.
Over the course of Saturday night and Sunday morning, the IOF troops carried out a massive campaign of raids, searches, and arrests throughout the West Bank. At least six Palestinians were detained during the raids, including two children and ex-prisoners.
The arrests were reported in Ramallah, Jenin and Occupied Jerusalem.
The detainees included those who were arrested in home raids, at military checkpoints, and those who were forced to surrender themselves under threat of their family arrest.
