The Israeli occupation forces have continued to escalate their bloody war on Lebanon for the eighth consecutive day, carrying out assassinations and shelling homes and facilities, including in the heart of the capital, Beirut, resulting in more martyrs and injuries.

On Monday morning, the occupation’s aircraft launched an airstrike on the Cola area in the heart of Beirut, marking the first such targeting outside the southern suburbs of the capital.

The strike targeted a residential apartment in the predominantly Sunni area near the road linking the capital to Rafic Hariri International Airport.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that the airstrike resulted in the martyrdom of Mohammed Abdel Aal, a member of the political bureau and head of the armed and security department, along with Imad Awda, a member of the military department of the Front and its armed leader in Lebanon, in addition to Abdel Rahman Abdel Aal.

For its part, Hamas announced the martyrdom of its leader in Lebanon, Fatah Sharif Abu Al-Amin, along with his wife and two sons in an assassination carried out by the Israeli occupation this morning in the Beddawi refugee camp in Lebanon.

In a statement on Monday, Hamas said, “With all meanings of patience, pride, and honor, and with further acceptance and satisfaction with Allah’s decree and destiny, we mourn to the masses of our Palestinian people and our Arab and Islamic nation the martyr leader Fatah Sharif Abu Al-Amin, leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in Lebanon and member of the leadership of the Movement abroad, martyred on the path to Jerusalem, in the shadows of the Al-Aqsa Flood epic, along with his wife, Omayma Ibrahim Abdul Hamid, and his two children, Amin and Wafa.”

Israeli warplanes again targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut shortly before dawn Monday, conducting successive airstrikes on the south and the Bekaa Valley.

Also on Monday morning, Lebanese media reported that three Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Hermel and its surroundings in northeastern Lebanon. Al-Mayadeen TV reported that more than 10 martyrs and a large number of injured were initially reported as a result of the airstrikes on Hermel, while an elderly woman was martyred in an airstrike on a house in Nabi Osman in the northern Bekaa.

In the early hours after midnight, the occupation’s warplanes targeted the town of Qlayla in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon and launched an airstrike on Baalbek.

Lebanese sources indicated that the occupation’s artillery shelled the town of Kfar Hamam in the Marjeyoun district of southern Lebanon. Israeli warplanes also targeted the towns of Kfar Shuba, Kfar Hamam, Deir Zahani, and Zabdine in the south.

This development comes after the Israeli occupation committed massacres that resulted in the death and injury of hundreds in the south and the Bekaa. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 109 people had been killed and 364 others injured due to Israeli airstrikes on the south and the Bekaa yesterday.

One of the airstrikes on the town of Ain Dlib east of Sidon in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of 40 people, while 16 others were killed and 115 injured in other airstrikes on the city of Tyre in the south as well.

In the Bekaa, several towns in the Baalbek-Hermel governorate were subjected to heavy shelling yesterday, resulting in the deaths of 33 people and injuries to about 100.
