Four Lebanese have been martyred as a result of an Israeli airstrike in eastern Lebanon, while Israeli media reported that 120,000 Israelis fled to shelters following rocket fire from Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Monday that four people were martyred and three others were injured due to an Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Mashghara in the Western Bekaa district of Bekaa Governorate in eastern Lebanon.
The Israeli occupation army launched airstrikes on the towns of Sidiqin and Zawtar Al-Sharqiya in southern Lebanon earlier on Monday morning. The army also conducted strikes on the towns of Al-Qulaylah and Ain Baal, as well as areas surrounding the towns of Yater, Rashnaaniyah, and Jabshit in the south of the country.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it had detected the launch of about 60 rockets toward the Upper and Western Galilee since this morning. Earlier, Israeli army radio reported that at least 25 rockets had been fired from Lebanon toward the Upper Galilee. Israeli media noted that between 20 to 30 rockets were detected in the latest wave from southern Lebanon, indicating that Israeli air defenses intercepted some of them.
The Israeli army also announced the interception of four drones that were launched from Lebanon and the east toward the Golan Heights and northern Israel, coinciding with the activation of alarm sirens.
The Israeli army spokesperson said that the air force intercepted two other drones coming from the east, which triggered alarms in southern Golan.
In this context, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that around 120,000 Israelis are in shelters following the firing of rockets from Lebanon toward northern Israel.
It reported that alarm sirens were sounded in the areas of Ras Al-Naqoura, Nahariya, and Akko after rocket launches were detected. The municipality of Nahariya city reported interceptions in the sky above the city.
On September 23, the Israeli army expanded its aggression against Lebanon in response to Hezbollah’s support for the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a war of genocide since October 7, 2023, resulting in over 145,000 martyrs and injured. Hezbollah has repeatedly confirmed that it will not cease its supportive attacks for the resistance in Gaza until Israel ends its war of genocide.
The Israeli escalation in Lebanon has resulted in 2,897 martyrs and 13,150 injured, including a large number of women and children, with approximately 1.4 million people displaced, mostly since the beginning of the extensive operations, according to Lebanese data.
