Hamas affirmed that the West Bank is pure Palestinian land and “an integral part of our Palestinian state, representing a volcano of revolution and anger until the occupation is defeated.” The statement on Friday was in response to the announcement by the Israeli Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, regarding the confiscation of about 24,000 dunums of Palestinian land in the West Bank for the purpose of settlement expansion.
Hamas said that this announcement confirms the Israeli continuation of implementing its fascist government’s plan to impose control over the entire West Bank and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. “It unequivocally highlights the colonial intentions of the occupation and its denial of our people’s national rights,” the Movement elaborated.
Hamas emphasized that these dangerous decisions and the escalating settlement policies, accompanied by increasing crimes and assaults by settlers on the villages and cities of the West Bank, will be met with greater resilience and an escalation of resistance to liberate the land and holy sites. “The steadfastness of our people will thwart the plans for annexation and displacement, no matter the sacrifices required,” it asserted.
Hamas underscored that “we, along with our Palestinian people and all our active factions and forces, will continue in the battle for freedom and resist the occupation’s plans, which will not change the facts of history.”
