The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) delivered on Sunday morning a demolition ultimatum against a Palestinian house in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan, south of the Aqsa Mosque.
According to local sources, employees from the Israeli municipality and police officers stormed Wadi Rababa neighborhood in Silwan and handed the family of Baidoun a notice ordering it to demolish parts of its home it had built recently and to pay a financial penalty for not obtaining a construction permit.
Two days ago, a Jerusalemite citizen demolished his house that was overlooking the Aqsa Mosque to avoid paying fines and demolition costs if a municipal crew carried out the measure.
The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without licenses because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers.
The IOA also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in Occupied Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.
Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in the holy city is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from their city.
