Israeli occupation forces (IOF) advanced into the villages of Al-Masiratiah and Sisyon in the western Daraa countryside, southern Syria, on Thursday under the pretext of searching for individuals alleged to be affiliated with Hezbollah and inspecting weapons in the hands of residents.

Hassan Al-Hafri from southern western Daraa reported that some unarmed citizens attempted to confront the patrol, but local leaders prevented them out of fear that it would lead to civilian casualties.

Several residents of Sisyon and Al-Masiratiah appealed to the international community, through Al-Araby Al-Jadeed TV, to prevent the expansion of these Israeli incursions and force the IOF to withdraw and end its military campaign, which they described as arrogant and contrary to international law and the agreements stipulated by the United Nations.

The Free Horan Gathering confirmed that the incursion into the mentioned villages coincided with the entry of IOF tanks and heavy vehicles. It clarified that IOF bulldozers and military vehicles moved from the border towards the Badia area, located about 20 kilometers from Damascus, and began to raze agricultural lands to facilitate the opening of direct roads to the border strip before retreating to their locations.

It stated that this aggression was followed by the incursion of several military vehicles and equipment after midnight towards the outskirts of several villages on the administrative border between the Quneitra and Daraa governorates.

The Free Horan Gathering indicated that the occupation forces carried out land leveling operations on some roads near the towns of Al-Muallaqa, Sida, Umm Al-Luqas, Al-Masiratiah, Ayn Dhakr, and Al-Qid, before withdrawing to the border strip, only to return to the outskirts of Sisyon and Al-Masiratiah.

Al-Araby Al-Jadeed quoted activist Said Al-Mohammad as saying that the occupation forces transferred military equipment from the Quneitra governorate building and the courthouse in recent days, leaving the residents confused between those interpreting it as a partial withdrawal of the occupation forces, while others suggested it was merely a repositioning.

On Wednesday, Israeli drones targeted 15 military patrols belonging to the new Syrian administration in the village of Ghadir Al-Bustan, south of Quneitra, while the personnel were guests of the village chief Abdo Al-Kouma, resulting in the death of Al-Kouma and two members of the administration, and injuring several personnel and a number of civilians.
