The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at hundreds of Palestinian citizens on Saturday evening as they were in the east of an-Nuseirat refugee camp waiting for a chance to return to their neighborhoods in northern Gaza.
One citizen was reportedly martyred in the shooting attack in the area, according to media sources.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli forces opened fire intensively at hundreds of citizens and killed one of them as they gathered on the Salahuddin road.
They added that those citizens were waiting to be allowed to return to their homes in northern and central Gaza after al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas handed over a new group of Israeli captives in Gaza City in the afternoon.
Medical sources said the martyr was 43-year-old Ra’ed Nofal from an-Nuseirat camp.
Israeli officials threatened today the Israeli army would not allow the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza, which was expected to begin today as part of the ceasefire agreement, until Arbel Yehud, a female civilian, was released.
