The director of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the occupied West Bank Adam Bouloukos confirmed that the humanitarian and security situation in northern West Bank has seriously deteriorated in recent weeks. He pointed out that the ongoing aggression in the region has forced Palestinian citizens to be displaced almost entirely from the Jenin camp.

He added that the escalation of Israeli military actions and the worsening security situation have led to mass displacement of families, which has directly impacted daily life.

In this context, Bouloukos explained that the suspension of educational activities in UNRWA schools in the area was unavoidable due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Jenin camp. He also stated that this has led to the suspension of health services in the northern West Bank refugee camps due to the difficulty of accessing them under the current circumstances.

The UNRWA director called on the international community to urgently act to provide humanitarian support and to pressure the parties involved to reduce the escalation and ensure the protection of civilians in the area.

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the sixth consecutive day, resulting in the martyrdom of 15 citizens, with dozens injured and arrested, in addition to widespread destruction of citizens’ property, public and private facilities, and infrastructure, including water and electricity networks.
