A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement met on Saturday with Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, in Tehran and discussed with him the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and other issues of mutual interest.
The delegation, which started an official visit to Iran yesterday, also met with Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian and parliament speaker Mohamed Ghalibaf.
The delegation, led by chairman of Hamas’s Shura Council Mohamed Darwish, briefed the Iranian leaders on the situation in Gaza in general and the developments of the ceasefire agreement.
The delegation hailed the historical role of Iran, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq in supporting the Palestinian people and their resistance and highlighted the need to uphold the resistance option until the Palestinian people realize their national aspirations.
The delegation also talked about the steadfastness of the Palestinians in Gaza in the face of the Israeli aggression and the attempts to displace them from their homes and areas.
For his part, Khamenei said that “the blessing of martyrs inevitably leads to victory,” affirming that the victory in Gaza would strengthen the resistance approach.
“You have become a legendary role model at the global level and for everyone who supports the resistance,” the supreme leader told the Hamas delegation.
