The Central Emergency Committee in Rafah said that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed more than 20 Palestinians in Rafah and injured and arrested many others since the ceasefire agreement came into force on January 19, 2025, in addition to the ongoing ground invasion into areas in central and western Rafah, with Israeli military tanks crossing the Egyptian-Palestinian border.
In a statement on Wednesday, the committee called on mediators to assume their responsibilities by obligating the Israeli side to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement and to stop its violations.
The committee stressed the need to oblige the Israeli occupation authorities to bring in heavy equipment needed for removing the rubble to recover the bodies of martyrs from underneath the destroyed houses, and to open the streets and squares to facilitate the return of citizens and restore life to the stricken city.
The committee praised the efforts of local, Arab, and international media to expose the Israeli crimes and highlight the suffering of the Palestinians in Rafah.
