Senior Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq has condemned the Israeli occupation’s decision to cut off electricity supply to the Gaza Strip as a “desperate attempt to pressure the population and the resistance.”
“We strongly denounce the Zionist occupation’s decision to cut off electricity to Gaza, after depriving its population of food, medicine, and water, in a desperate attempt to pressure our people and their resistance through a cheap and unacceptable policy of blackmail,” Resheq said in Telegram remarks on Sunday.
Resheq also described the cutting off of electricity, fuel and aid, along with the closure of border crossings as “collective punishment” and a “full-fledged war crime.”
He affirmed that the Palestinians in Gaza and their resistance would not yield to such pressure and would remain steadfast.
