Sheikh Ekrema Sabri calls for urgent action to stop Israel’s aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Friday 25-April-2025

The preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, called on Friday for immediate and urgent action to stop the Israeli aggression against occupied Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Sabri said that what is happening at Al-Aqsa Mosque is not just a violation, but an open declaration of war on the Mosque.

Israeli occupation forces and Jewish settlers have declared war on everything Palestinian and peaceful in the occupied city of Jerusalem, he underscored.

Palestinian calls continue to mobilize, unite, and confront plans of Israeli occupation forces and settler groups against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging Palestinians to intensify their presence at the holy site and defend it in the face of these plans aimed at demolishing the Mosque and establishing the alleged temple in its place.

The so-called temple groups had announced their intention to raise the Israeli flag inside Al-Aqsa Mosque on May 1, in celebration of what they call the “Independence Day” and “Declaration of the State of Israel”.

The same groups launched a petition addressed to the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, which includes provocative demands affecting Al-Aqsa Mosque during the so-called “Jerusalem Day” on May 26, when settlers usually storm the Mosque to celebrate the occupation of East Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In the petition, the settlers demand that Ben Gvir open Al-Aqsa to settler incursions all holiday time from Sunday evening until Monday evening (May 25-26), and allow absolute freedom for Talmudic rituals inside the holy Islamic site, including the entry of what they call sacred tools such as the tallit, tefillin, and Torah scrolls.
