A source in the Resistance Security revealed on Friday that advanced cameras have been deployed by the Israeli occupation army around the “Netzarim” checkpoint, using facial recognition technology as a “tool for field executions and arrests.”
The source, in a statement reported by the “Al-Hares” platform, said, “The cameras overlook Al-Rashid Street as part of an intelligence clampdown to impose tight surveillance on the movement of passersby.”
He explained that the occupation army “did not leave Al-Rashid Street open by chance, but rather set an elaborate trap to carry out its plans.”
He confirmed that “the targeting includes resistance fighters, those with relatives in the resistance, and anyone who has provided past support or assistance.”
The source stressed that “civilians are being arrested, tortured, and interrogated to extract information about the resistance.”
He clarified that “the Netzarim checkpoint is a testing ground where the enemy attempts to recruit informants, and the resistance has identified cases connected to the enemy during the displacement.”
He warned that “any mass movement toward the south, especially via Netzarim, is a trap that could end in field execution, arrest, or security compromise.”
For nearly ten weeks, the Israeli occupation forces have prevented the entry of any supplies into the Gaza Strip, leading to the closure of bakeries, community kitchens, and charitable organizations. International organizations operating in the Strip have declared that their warehouses have run out of essential food supplies and baby formula.
The Israeli occupation army resumed its aggression and tightened siege on the Gaza Strip at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that took effect on January 19. However, the occupation army violated the terms of the agreement throughout the truce.
Since October 7, 2023, with American and European support, the Israeli occupation forces have been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 172,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded—most of them women and children—and over 14,000 missing persons.
