Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid has called for escalating the confrontation against settlers’ attacks against towns, villages, homes, and lands in the West Bank.
Shadid said in a press statement on Saturday that extremist and heavily armed settler gangs continue their aggression against the occupied West Bank unabated.
Earlier on Saturday, Israeli fanatic settlers attacked the Ramin plain east of Tulkarem and set it on fire, while others burned crops in Turmusaya and Abu Falah towns northeast of Ramallah.
Shadid stressed that settler gangs carry out their crimes with the support of the Israeli occupation army and under the cover of the “extremist Zionist government,” which provides them with support and protection while carrying out their criminal attacks.
The Hamas official pointed out that the escalating attacks by settler militias in the West Bank “come as part of the Israeli occupation massacres committed against our people wherever they are, and the continuation of the extremist Judaization policy adopted by the occupation government for implementing the (West Bank) annexation plan.”
Shadid stressed the need to deter Israeli settlers in the West Bank and stand united against their aggression and crimes, and to foil the plans of the extremist Israeli government, which seeks to displace Palestinians and expel them from their lands and villages, especially those close to settlements.
He reiterated that “the attacks by extremist settlers, backed by their fascist government, will not push our people to give up or budge from their land and rights, but rather will make them pursue greater steadfastness and determination, more defiance and confrontation, and hold fast to the choice of resistance.”
Shadid called on all factions, forces, movements, and everyone carrying weapons in the West Bank governorates “to repel these terrorist attacks, unite together to be able to confront the crimes of the occupation, deter the settlers, and repel their aggression against our people, our land, and our holy sites.”
