361 Palestinian detainees entered new years in Israeli occupation jails during November.
Among those who are serving new years in Israeli jails 37 detainees are serving life-sentences and eight others are sentenced to over 30 years in jail. 20 prisoners are also serving terms of up to 20 years and 54 others are sentenced to over ten years imprisonment while eight Palestinians are serving a sentences of less than ten years.
At the same time 234 detainees have been held in Israeli detention centers pending their trial.
As for the geographical distribution of the detainees the West Bank topped the list with 308 prisoners followed by 26 from blockaded Gaza Strip 25 from Occupied Jerusalem and two detainees from 1948 occupied territories.
Meanwhile prisoners Anas Shedid and Ahmad Abu Fara continue their hunger strikes in protest at being held administratively with neither charge nor trial in Israeli jails.
12 detainees—Omar al-Atrash Firas Abu al-Rub Muneer Qatniyeh Maher Arar Mohamed Barahmeh Sami al-Sa’ee Rami Daoud Islam al-Hadami Osama Shreitah Mohamed Abu al-Rish Yasseen Abu Lafah and Hassan Lafi—were released from Israeli lock-ups during November after they served long prison-terms.
