It took only seven minutes for detection dogs unleashed by the Israeli military at the home of prisoner Mabrouk Jarrar to turn the latter’s body into a blood-spattered entity mauled from head to toe by the dogs’ unsympathetic incisors.
A native of Burkin town in Jenin Jarrar thought that hiding in his bedroom along with his family members after heavily-armed Israeli soldiers broke into the home would spare him from the soldiers’ violent assault. However sounds of a loud explosion shattered the windows of the house after a bomb was discharged by the occupation forces. Suddenly Jarrar was brutally caught and attacked by a gigantic police dog.
“Every time the dog sank his daggers-like teeth into my body I just had the feeling that I was going to breath my least” Jarrar told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) adding “The dog started to bite off my left hand and leg.”
The scene was not so much dissimilar to an attack by Israeli soldiers on a disarmed child.
“The Israeli soldiers stood behind the wall having their hearts in their mouths as they feared that slain Ahmed Jarrar whom they were chasing down would suddenly show up” he added.
Jarrar was attacked by Israeli army hounds for seven minutes causing him injuries bruises and neck fractures.
As soon as his wife plucked up her courage to defend him the dogs were about to turn to her but she immediately ran out of the house screaming at the soldiers and asking for help.
“My children have gone traumatized due to the attack. The live scene will forever remain stuck in their memories as long as they live” she said.
“The soldiers kept looking at my husband in cold-blood saying they will only save him if he reveals Ahmed Jarrar’s location. However they soon beat him up and arrested him knowing that their blackmailing would just go in vain.”
Jarrar was later transferred to the Israeli Afoula Hospital for treatment. Shortly after the Israeli army tracked down Ahmed Jarrar and killed him the occupation authorities released him. He was moved to Nablus-based Rafidia Hospital to continue his treatment.
