Prisoner Maher Al-Akhras refused a verbal proposal by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Tuesday to take him to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem and that his administrative detention would not be renewed and he would be released at the end of November. Akhras is determined on continuing his hunger strike and insisted on his immediate release.
The Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Authority said that the IOA is trying to circumvent Akhras’s strike. The Israeli Prosecutor proposed to him verbally on Tuesday a transfer to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem and that his administrative detention order would not be renewed after the end of the current order and he will be released on 11/26/2020.
It also stated in a statement on Monday evening that Akhras confirmed the continuation of his battle with the open hunger strike calling for an end to his arbitrary administrative detention and for his immediate release to his home in Jenin.
