Arrests interrogation writs reported in West Bank sweep by PA forces

Wednesday 5-July-2017

A number of Palestinians were arrested and others summoned to questioning by the Palestinian Authority (PA) forces in an abduction sweep rocking West Bank provinces.

Reporting from al-Khalil a PIC news correspondent said the Palestinian youth Khaled al-Batat was arrested by the PA intelligence forces from the city just a few days after he had undergone a surgery.

Aysar Walid Omar from Fatah al-Intifada Movement was also arrested by the PA forces in al-Khalil’s town of Dura.

At the same time Palestinian prisoner Mootassem al-Natsha has been on a hunger-strike for three consecutive days to protest his arbitrary detention by the PA preventive forces.

One day earlier Dhiaa Bani Awda and Thaer Abu Diya were arrested by the PA intelligence officers.

A cameraman of al-Aqsa TV Channel—Ahmed al-Khatib—has also been held in a Ramallah-based PA detention center for the fourth day running.

The campaign culminated in the abduction of youngster Firas al-Halabi from Beit Dajan in Nablus and the student at An-Najah University Issa Kharyoush after he was summoned to questioning.

In the meantime Palestinian student al-Baraa Rayhan enrolled at An-Najah University has been on an open-ended hunger strike for 15 days in a row. His fellow Mohamed Halabouni initiated his open-ended hunger strike some seven days ago in PA lock-ups in Nablus.
