RAMALLAH (PIC)– The PLC speaker Dr. Aziz Dwaik has been hospitalized for a week now after deterioration of his health conditions and a Palestinian MP warns of Israeli attempt to assassinate him.
Dwaik’s office in Ramallah said on Monday that the speaker who suffers diabetes and weight loss was currently held in the Ramle prison hospital.
For her part Dwaik’s wife said that she was surprised not to find him in the Negev prison when she went to visit him last Thursday and she was told that he was carried to Ramle prison hospital. She warned that his health condition was worsening.
Dwaik was kidnapped by the IOF troops along with other Palestinian MPs all associated with the Hamas Movement in the West Bank almost a year ago.
Meanwhile MP Samira Al-Halaika charged that Dwaik was subjected to systematic “criminal measures” by the Israeli prisons authority warning that the IPA was planning the speaker’s assassination through such measures.
“We hold the IPA and the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of Dr. Aziz Dwaik she said and urged PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to activate the question of the detained speaker and MPs on all Arab and international levels.
The lawmaker also asked all Arab and Islamic countries parliaments and international institutions to shoulder their responsibility towards what is going on against the PLC speaker and all kidnapped MPs.
The Nafha society catering for human and prisoners’ rights said that the IPA was deliberately holding Dwaik for long periods in the prison van while transferring him to court to humiliate and physically and psychologically pressure him.
