The EU office in occupied Palestine expressed deep concern over the Israeli use of lethal force against Palestinians saying that 2022 is the deadliest year since 2006 with 140 Palestinians killed.
In a tweet posted Friday evening on its official account the office stressed that civilian casualties must be investigated and accountability ensured.
According to the international law use of lethal force is strictly limited to situations in which there exists a serious and imminent threat to life and limb the tweet reads.
Earlier Friday a shocking footage shared online showed an Israeli soldier attacking a Palestinian young man before pulling a gun and shooting him in Hawwra town.
The Palestinian youth was hit in the torso and fell to the ground before being left bleeding for long hours without medical assistance until he died.
The Palestinian health ministry later identified the victim as 22-year-old Ammar Mufleh.
