The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces kidnapped an ex-prisoner and have kept dozens of others including a hunger striker in custody.
32-year-old instructor Zayed Ismail Al-Awawdeh was kidnapped by the PA preventive forces at a military checkpoint pitched in al-Khalil’s village of al-Burj.
Meanwhile a number of Palestinian activists and students have been kept in PA lock-ups in the occupied West Bank provinces of al-Khalil and Nablus over the past few weeks including the student Ismail Halabiya who has been on hunger strike for 10 days protesting his incarceration.
The PA forces in al-Khalil have also kept Mohamed al-Tukhman in custody and extended his remand to Sunday.
