NAZARETH (PIC)– At least four Israeli settlers were killed and seven others were wounded in an armed operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance at the tourist city of Eilat at the tip of the Red Sea Monday morning.
The Hebrew radio quoted chief of Israeli occupation police in the city as saying that a huge explosion has rocked a bakery in a commercial center in the heart of the city early Monday morning when Palestinian man detonated a bobby-trapped bag he was carrying killing four Israelis and wounded seven others.
According to the Hebrew Haaretz newspaper the Quds Brigades armed wing of the Islamic Jihad and the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades armed wing of Fatah claimed responsibility for the attack.
Local Israeli observers affirmed that the attack constitutes a big blow to Israeli security and intelligence apparatuses that failed to detect and thwart the attack despite the far location of the costal city.
IOF troops declared high alert status and crossing point at the city was sealed off in the wake of the stunning attack.
Israel used not to reveal actual numbers of Israeli casualties in a bid to pacify Israeli public and to limit Palestinian jubilance over such attacks which the Palestinian resistance factions had steadily affirmed that they were in retaliation to the IOF bloody aggressions against the unarmed Palestinian civilians.
