The Preventive Medicine Department in the Gaza Strip has warned that the current wave of the new COVID-19 variant could be severe and involve the spread of the virus among a large number of citizens within a short period of time.
In a statement on Saturday director of the department Majdi Duhair said that the new corona variant is not very different from the previous Omicron variants and its symptoms are similar to the previous ones.
“We will be able to handle this fifth wave of corona and we will pull through it as we did in the previous waves” Duhair stressed.
He urged the citizens to follow preventive and safety measures and to practice social distancing during the current wave.
