A general strike was declared on Thursday morning in Jenin province in mourning for three Palestinian young men who died during armed clashes at dawn with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Jenin refugee camp.
Businesses schools and different facilities observed the strike and shut down their doors in different areas of Jenin.
In a statement Palestinian resistance factions have called for the strike and a day of clashes on Thursday with the IOF across the occupied territories.
The IOF killed three Palestinian young men during a dawn raid in Jenin the latest people to die in a months-long Israeli campaign of near-daily raids in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian ministry of health identified the three killed as Siqdi Zakarnah 29 Atta Shalabi 46 and Tareq al-Damaj 29.
Zakarnah and al-Damaj were from the Jenin refugee camp while Shalabi was from the town of Qabatiya on the southern outskirts of Jenin.
At least two other Palestinian citizens were injured by Israeli gunfire during the raid including one in serious condition local journalists told Al Jazeera satellite channel.
The IOF including special forces raided Jenin and its refugee camp at dawn on Thursday and reportedly arrested several “wanted” Palestinians amid armed clashes with resistance fighters.
