Hamas: Shin Bet chief’s threats do not frighten us

Sunday 25-September-2022

The Hamas Movement responded sharply on Sunday to recent threats made by Shin Bet (Shabak) chief Ronen Bar against its leadership and the Gaza Strip.

“The threats made by Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar against leader Yehya Sinwar are not new” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said on Sunday in response to Bar’s threats. “They do not frighten our Palestinian people or the resistance leadership.”

“The threats made by the Shabak head against leader Sinwar reflect the political security and military predicament that the leaders of the occupation state are suffering from” spokesman Barhoum said.

“The [Zionist] entity’s moaning has increased thanks to the equations that have been imposed by the resistance in Gaza on the occupation state and the heroic and legendary steadfastness of our people and their blessed and valiant resistance that continues to surge in the West Bank and Jerusalem” the spokesman added.

According to Israel’s Channel 12 on Saturday Israel’s internal intelligence director threatened to punish Gaza if Hamas continued to support resistance attacks against Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The channel quoted Bar as saying in a recent Shin Bet meeting that he would not allow Sinwar to continue to pursue a double policy of both rebuilding Gaza and orchestrating operations in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
