Marking the 30th anniversary of banishing 415 Palestinian prominent leaders to Lebanon’s Marj al-Zohour Hamas Movement on Saturday renewed calls for Palestinian unity and adherence to resistance option.
On Dec.17 1992 Israel exiled 415 Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials and members to Marj al-Zohour in southern Lebanon following a resistance operation by the Al-Qassam Brigades in which it abducted and killed Israeli occupation soldier Nissim Toledano.
On this occasion Hamas Movement stressed that Israeli crimes and deportation policy will never succeed to deter the Palestinian people’s will and strong determination.
Deportation to Marj al-Zohour was a major event and a significant milestone and a turning point in the history of Palestinian resistance the Movement added.
The Palestinian deportees with their steadfastness had set a new example in the struggle against the Israeli occupation it said.
