The Hamas Movement has condemned recent remarks made by ousted member of Fatah’s Central Committee Nasser Qudwa as “a national and political sin” and “consistent with the Zio-American positions that aim to tear the Palestinian people apart and prolong the inter-Palestinian division.”
In a statement on Friday Hamas said that such remarks by Qudwa “weaken the Palestinian situation at a time when our people need to pool their efforts and achieve unity in the face of challenges.”
The Movement affirmed that “the Palestinian people have a long history of struggle that has always been based on political pluralism.”
It added that the Palestinian people’s only conflict is with the Israeli occupation which works day and night on Judaizing Jerusalem desecrating the holy sites annexing West Bank lands and besieging Gaza.
In recent remarks to France 24 satellite channel Qudwa hit out at “political Islam” in an obvious attempt to gain support for himself from European countries and seduce the anti-Islam French government to interfere in the intended Palestinian elections especially after he was expelled by Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas from the Fatah Movement.
He told France 24 that “everyone has a position against political Islam or political Islamism” and expressed hope that Fatah’s candidate lists could cooperate to bring all the votes together for the secular Movement’s victory.
While his remarks ignored the Israeli occupation and its crimes against the Palestinian people he incited against Gaza and called for restoring it geographically and politically.
