The Hamas Movement has expressed its appreciation to the attorney general of Switzerland for accepting to examine a legal complaint filed against former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni related to her involvement in committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum hailed the Swiss decision to consider the legal suit against Livni as a very important step to punish Israeli war criminals and curb further violations against the Palestinians.
Barhoum called for taking further legal action in this regard and cooperating with the Swish judicial authorities to achieve justice for the victims.
The office of Switzerland’s attorney general last Monday said it would embark on studying a legal complaint filed by a pro-Palestinian group to have former Israeli foreign minister and Zionist Union MK Tzipi Livni tried for her role in Israel’s military aggression against Gaza in 2008 and 2009.
