Ismail Haneyya the political bureau chairman of Hamas discussed in phone calls with state leaders and political officials on Tuesday the recent developments in the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the Gaza Strip.
Haneyya telephoned the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Sabah and explained the current situation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Gaza Strip.
He briefed the Emir on the Israeli occupation’s attempt to displace Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem within attempts to Judaize the holy city altering its landmarks and controlling Al-Aqsa Mosque by trying to hold Israeli celebrations inside the holy Islamic site during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan.
The Hamas leader appreciated Kuwait’s position on all official and popular levels in support of Al-Aqsa and the Jerusalemites.
For his part Sheikh Al-Sabah said “The Palestine issue is our topmost issue and we stand by the Palestinian right.”
He explained that he would assign the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs to exert efforts in various regional and international forums to work on halting the occupation’s actions.
In another phone call on Tuesday afternoon Haneyya discussed with Lebanese President Michel Aoun the Israeli plans related to the evacuation of citizens in Sheikh Jarrah the attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites and the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip and the killing of children.
He praised the Lebanese stance towards Palestine Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa and affirmed that efforts would continue at all levels to stop the occupation plans in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa and its crimes against citizens in Gaza.
Furthermore the Hamas leader phoned the head of the Iranian Shura Council Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf and talked about the recent field developments and the “Zionist” attacks against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
He stressed that the Israeli occupation’s decision to displace Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood should be revoked and the policy of Judaization settlement demolition and the incursions of Al-Aqsa must be stopped.
For his part Qalibaf expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people condemning the recent Israeli violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He said that he would communicate with all world parliaments to discuss the aggression in Jerusalem and the dangerous developments in Gaza.
