GAZA (PIC)– Ismael Haneyya Prime Minister of the PA caretaker government has invited Sunday PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah faction for national dialogue to resolve all points of difference in the Palestinian arena.
In an important speech he delivered to the Palestinian people Sunday night Haneyya laid out 9-point vision of his government for true Palestinian national reconciliation including abiding by the Cairo declaration the national reconciliation document and the Makka accord; unity of the West Bank and Gaza Strip; and unity of the Palestinian political system.
Haneyya also called for respecting the Palestinian legitimacy altogether; respecting the Palestinian basic law; rebuilding the PA security apparatuses on national basis; respecting the democratic will of the Palestinian people; rebuilding the PLC; setting up a national unity government; and political pluralism.
“Come and let us sit together on the table of negotiations without preconditions in order to resolve all our political disputes in the Palestinian arena and we are ready for that dialogue” Haneyya affirmed in a clear message to Abbas and his Fatah faction.
Leaving no room for Hamas’s detractors to concoct plans against the Movement the prime minister affirmed that Hamas Movement “will remain steadfast regardless of the pressures exerted on it and that anyone who thinks that he can uproot Hamas Movement is indeed dreaming”.
He also unveiled a number of “important” achievements accomplished by his caretaker government in the aftermath of Hamas’s military takeover of Gaza Strip last June despite the unjust economic embargo [imposed by the USA Israel and their allies] on the Palestinian people that paralyzed almost all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip.
In this regard Haneyya explained that his government succeeded in merging the PA executive force in the PA police departments for the first time ever with the aim to reestablish the PA security apparatuses on healthy and national basis away from factionalism and partisan.
“Today we live in an unprecedented calm and peace in Gaza Strip and we are not saying that for propaganda but we indeed mean it as Gaza inhabitants were and still are keen to live in this kind of peaceful atmosphere free of killings in the streets and free of drug gangs” Haneyya confirmed in his speech.
Moreover the premier pointed out that his government had made a number of “good” accomplishments on the judiciary track with the aim to restore the Palestinian public respect and esteem towards the Palestinian judiciary stressing that all usurped rights will be returned to their real owners.
In addition Haneyya underlined that his government granted local and foreign media apparatuses including those affiliated with Fatah faction among other media organizations all the freedom to carryout their mission in Gaza Strip.
PLC meeting against Israel’s will:
Furthermore Haneyya unveiled that the duly elected PLC will convene Wednesday with complete quorum after the 41 Hamas’s legislators who were kidnapped by the IOF troops and retained in Israeli jails for 17 months now with the aim to paralyze the PA legislature had authorized their colleagues in Hamas Movement to represent them in the PLC.
The invitation for the PA legislature was promulgated by the acting speaker of the council MP Dr. Ahamd Bahar in spite of Fatah’s threats to spoil the meeting and to boycott it.
On the other hand the PA premier urged Arab leaders not to attend the US-planned Annapolis conference this coming autumn affirming that the conference was meant to “enhance the Palestinian internal division normalize Arab ties with Israel and to incite an aggression on Gaza Lebanon and Iran”.
He also rejected any attempt to separate the West Bank from Gaza Strip affirming that his government wasn’t and will not establish a separate entity in the Gaza Strip.
As far as thousands of Palestinian workers dismissed by the “illegitimate” PA government of Salam Fayyadh in Ramallah city are concerned Haneyya pointed out in his speech that his government was able to extend financial assistance to more than 60000 Palestinian workers in Gaza Strip and succeeded in paying full salaries to more than 17000 PA employees who were arbitrarily dismissed by Fayyadh.
Government keen to protect social fabric:
The premier also stressed his government keenness on protecting the social fabric of Palestinian society and in this regard he assured the Christians community in the Gaza Strip of his government’s full protection saying: “Palestinian Christians are a fundamental part of Palestinian society together we endured pain and tribulations and together we shall continue until the liberation of Palestine.” He also pointed out that repairs were carried out on the Christian school which was attacked in Gaza.
At this point Father Manuail Musalam the head of the Latin Church in the Gaza Strip along with the Pastor of the Orthodox Church got up and went to the stage and held hands with Ismail Haneyya and Ahmad Bahar signaling unity between Palestinians of different faiths.
