Haneyya phones Malaysia’s foreign minister

Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Monday spoke over the phone with Malaysian foreign minister Saifuddin Abdullah and highlighted the bilateral relations and his Movement’s keenness on developing them.

According to a statement released by his office Haneyya hailed Malaysia’s position in support of the Palestinian rights and its rejection of normalizing relations with the Israeli occupation state.

The Hamas leader put the Malaysian foreign minister in the picture of the situation in the Palestinian arena especially with regard to Israel’s violations in Jerusalem and at the Aqsa Mosque.

He talked about Israel’s persistence in building and expanding settlements appropriating and annexing Palestinian land and property and suppressing the Palestinian prisoners in its jails as well as about the exposure of Palestinian citizens to daily attacks and violations at the hands of settlers and soldiers.

Haneyya briefed him about the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and the Israeli restrictions on the reconstruction of what had been destroyed during the last and previous wars.

He also talked about the living conditions of the Palestinian refugees abroad and stressed the need to help them have decent lives.

For his part minister Abdullah reiterated his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their national rights and its rejection of any form of relationship with the occupation state.

He affirmed that his country would continue to rally international support for all the Palestinian files especially the issues of Jerusalem the prisoners and the refugees.
