The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last night and at dawn Sunday stormed different areas of the West Bank kidnapped several Palestinian citizens from their homes and handed a senior Hamas official a summons for interrogation.
In Nablus Israeli soldiers kidnapped three young men from the old and new Askar refugee camps in eastern Nablus.
Dozens of Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers also stormed Awarta town in southern Nablus under military protection and performed rituals in an area full of old graves and tombs.
In al-Bireh city an Israeli military force raided the house of Sheikh Jamal at-Tawil a noted Hamas figure and handed him a summons ordering him to go next Tuesday to the Ofer military base in Ramallah for an interview.
Sheikh Tawil was released a few weeks ago from an Israeli jail.
In al-Khalil local sources said that the IOF launched raids on homes in different areas of the province and kidnapped several young men.
One of those detainees was identified as Hijazi Jaradat the brother of martyr Iyad Jaradat and taken from his home in Sa’ir town east of al-Khalil.
Two young brothers from the family of Abu Sharar were also taken prisoners during an IOF campaign in Beit ar-Rush al-Fauqa town south of al-Khalil.
Another young man called Mohamed al-Masalmeh was kidnapped from his home in Beit Awwa town southwest of al-Khalil.
The IOF also detained a Palestinian citizen called Mousa Halayka at a checkpoint in an area near Beit Einun town northeast of al-Khalil and confiscated his car.
A local source said that Halayka was driving his sick daughter to a hospital when Israeli soldiers intercepted him and took him to a police detention center adding that the police released him on bail but seized his car which he had been driving for about 10 years.
Meanwhile the IOF stormed Qalqas hamlet south of al-Khalil and ransacked several homes at the pretext of looking for young men suspected of throwing stones at settlers’ cars.
Local sources from the hamlet told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that Israeli soldiers kidnapped two young men identified as Saadi Tabsh and Bassam Abu Turki and handed two others from the family of Abu Asnaineh summonses for interrogation from the Shin Beit center in Etzion settlement.
The IOF also raided homes in the areas of Wadi al-Samen and Wadi al-Qadi in al-Khalil in search for weapons without finding anything.
In Ramallah the IOF kidnapped five Palestinian citizens in Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood al-Jalazoun refugee camp and at a checkpoint near Deir Abu Mash’al village.
In Bethlehem one young man identified as Anas Nawawreh was kidnapped from his home by the IOF in Wadi Shahin area.
Violent clashes reportedly broke out overnight between Israeli soldiers and local young men in the Manger Square of Bethlehem. No one was reportedly injured or arrested during the events.
