The Old City of al-Khalil has been seeing since last night Friday a heavy Israeli military and security presence in its neighborhoods in search for a Palestinian young man accused of detonating an explosive device at a checkpoint.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) intensified their presence around the Ibrahimi Mosque and along the way to Baba az-Zawiya area.
They said that the IOF raided Palestinian homes and intercepted cars on the streets for security check adding that the campaign was launched after a young man threw a homemade bomb at Abul-Rish checkpoint near the Ibrahimi Mosque.
