BEIT HANOUN (PIC)– IOF troops Monday night shot and killed a Palestinian citizen near the Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing north of the Gaza Strip and wounded 18 others.
Dr. Mouawiah Hassanein director of PA health ministry’s emergency department said that the martyr Jihad Al-Madhoon 30 was hit with several bullets in various parts of his body.
He said that the soldiers fired at the Palestinians who gathered at the crossing and wounded 18 others three of whom were carried to Awda hospital with one reportedly in critical condition.
For his part a source in the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas Movement denied Palestine TV report that the martyr fell at the hands of Qassam fighters describing the report as a “sheer lie”.
He affirmed that the Palestine TV was advocating Israeli occupation and acquitting it of all crimes adding that everybody knows that no Qassam element is present at that area due to the intensified presence of IOF soldiers.
The IOF command for its part said that Palestinians tossed a hand grenade at the soldiers in the crossing and the soldiers retaliated by opening gunfire.
