NABLUS (PIC)– IOF troops kidnapped at dawn Tuesday Sheikh Maher Al-Kharraz one of the prominent Hamas Movement leaders in the West Bank from his home in the Old City of Nablus.
Eyewitnesses said that IOF soldiers stormed the home of Sheikh Maher at 0400 am Tuesday and took away the 55-year-old Sheikh to an unknown detention.
Kharraz is one of the well known figures in Nablus and enjoys high respect and popularity. He was arrested on several occasions at the hands of IOF troops the latest of which was three years ago when he spent six months in administrative detention without trial or charge in the Negev desert prison.
The PA intelligence apparatus in the West Bank had detained the Sheikh on 23/9/2007 and was released after being told that Hamas was banned from any activity in the West Bank.
