Saturday 17-July-2010

RAMALLAH (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces’ (IOF) excessive use of tear gas bombs against peaceful anti wall marches in Ramallah and Bethlehem districts led to breathing problems among dozens of participants.

Local sources said that the IOF soldiers also fired metal bullets and stun grenades at the marchers in Nilin village Ramallah district on Friday.

They added that the soldiers chased a British activist and arrested him as they threatened demonstrators they would be detained in the event they went ahead in their peaceful march.

IOF troops quelled a similar march in Ma’sara village Bethlehem district on Friday afternoon in which tens of citizens and foreign activists took part.

Witnesses said that many participants could not proceed in the march as a result of the excessive use of teargas canisters on the part of the IOF soldiers.

IOF troops on Friday had opened intensified fire at Palestinian dwellings east of Khan Younis district south of the Gaza Strip on Friday.

Media sources said that four bulldozers accompanied by three armored vehicles advanced into the area and damaged cultivated land lots.
