NABLUS (PIC)– Two Palestinians were seriously injured at dawn Tuesday after being shot with live bullets near Shavei Shomron settlement built on Palestinian lands west of Nablus Israeli sources said.
The sources claimed that Israeli forces opened fire at two Palestinian youths while allegedly trying to steal arms and ammunition. The two injured persons are still unidentified.
An Israeli army patrol was earlier targeted in a roadside bomb attack near the Homesh vacated settlement northeast of Nablus. Material damage was reported.
On the other hand at least one Palestinian was injured when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired live bullets during clashes that erupted in Deir Istiya village to the northwest of Salfit.
The clashes erupted when IOF soldiers suppressed a peaceful demonstration in the village. Tear gas bombs and live bullets were heavily fired during the protests.
The injured young man was transferred to hospital after suffering a bullet injury in his hand.
The village has been subjected to night raids and witnessed daily clashes over the past week after the IOF closed its main entrance for no reason.
Meanwhile clashes erupted in Silat Dahria town in southern Jenin when IOF soldiers stormed the town looking for suspects in the blasting of a roadside bomb near Homesh vacated settlement located between Nablus and Jenin.
Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that big numbers of IOF soldiers stormed the town and closed the road linking Jenin and Nablus. Combing operations were conducted during the raid.
The sources pointed out that several injuries were reported after inhaling tear gas fired during the violent clashes.
