Interior ministry denies imposing house arrest on Fatah leaders in Gaza

Tuesday 17-February-2009

GAZA (PIC)– The Palestinian interior ministry said the government in Gaza provided and still is providing the atmosphere appropriate for national dialog categorically denying that there are Fatah-affiliated leaders under house arrest.

Ihab Al-Ghussein told the Quds Press that all Fatah leaders in the Gaza Strip move freely and without restrictions adding that Fatah leaders such as Zakarya Al-Agha who moves between the West Bank and Gaza without any obstacle and Ibrahim Abu Al-Naja who speaks for satellite TV channels are the best examples of  the absence of house arrests in the Strip.

“We hear some voices in the West Bank argue that the Fatah delegation which met with Hamas leaders in Cairo does not represent the Fatah Movement so we hope to have dialog with a unified Fatah and that Ramallah will be responsive to the calls for creating a climate for the success of forthcoming national dialog in Cairo” Ghussein underlined.
