GAZA (PIC)– The Islamic Jihad Movement in occupied Palestine has urged the Arab League not to give a political cover for direct negotiations between the Fatah authority in Ramallah and the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) stressing that sacrifices of the Palestinian people shouldn’t be ignored.
Mohammed Al-Hindi the senior political leader in the Movement spoke to thousands of his Movement’s youths on Friday underlining that the Arab League shouldn’t underestimate the national constants and sacrifices of the Palestinian people.
“It seems that movements are being initiated here and there to start the direct negotiations between the Fatah authority and the IOA to deceive the world into believing that there is a political process going on in the region” Hindi pointed out.
He added “George Mitchell the sponsor of the indirect negotiations had come to the region for many times but achieved nothing” criticizing officials of the Fatah authority for breaking their pledge not to go to direct negotiations with the Israelis.
“They (Fatah leaders) had repeatedly said they won’t go to direct negotiations while settlement activities and judaization of Jerusalem persisted; yet they backtracked on their promises” he charged.
As far as the reconciliation file is concerned Hindi called for an inter-Palestinian dialogue to agree on a national program that would preserve and protect the Palestinian national constants.
He also warned of the Israeli poisonous proposal of declaring Gaza Strip as a separate entity asserting that his Movement won’t exchange lifting the siege on Gaza with tearing the Palestinian homeland.
For his part Ahmet Dogan father of Furqan Dogan one of the nine Turkish martyrs killed by the Israeli navy on board the Mavi Marmara ship while on its way to break the unjust Israeli siege on Gaza last May underlined that the message of his son and companions had indeed reached the entire world mainly that there is a people in Gaza Strip suffering and dying under the vicious Israeli siege.
“The history would record that the incident on Marmara ship was important to revive the international conscience and to awaken the Arab and Muslim Ummah” the father said.
“The activists were carrying humanitarian aid to the oppressed and besieged people of Gaza” he added speaking to the Islamic Jihad youths on the phone from Turkey.
Ahmad Al-Mudallal another Islamic Jihad leader underscored that the Palestinian people won’t forget the sacrifices of the martyrs of the freedom flotilla vowing that the Palestinian people would follow the path of resistance and sacrifices which those activists had followed.
