Israeli warplanes blasted a number of resistance sites in the Gaza Strip at dawn Wednesday with no reported casualties.
Local sources said that the warplanes targeted resistance sites in Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza Strip and another in southern Gaza City.
The Israeli army said that the raids were in retaliation to the firing of a rocket from the besieged Strip last night adding that the raids targeted a workshop and a resistance site.
An Israeli army spokesman had earlier on Tuesday evening said that a rocket fired from Gaza had fallen in a deserted land lot near Beer Sheba in The Negev and that no casualties were sustained.
The Israeli army radio said that the rocket fell during a visit to the area by the Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu.
